Ali Lincoln

Director of Thought Leadership

Ali has been excited about education since she started kindergarten, and her own undergraduate experience at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. helped to solidify her career path in higher education. She even got her start there as an intern in the public affairs office, working for now-colleagues Kristine Maloney and Cristal Steuer.

With a keen eye for editing and a passion for writing, Ali directs and supports thought leadership, public scholarship, and op-ed projects at TVP Communications. She loves working with higher ed leaders to craft pieces that engage with students, connect with communities, and address major social issues and trends. She regularly collaborates with campus administrators and faculty to help them find their voice and shape their language to best share their expertise and captivate their audience. Ali has also served as a co-editor for the Call to Action blog on Inside Higher Ed.

When she’s not wielding her digital red pen with clients, Ali supports internal thought leadership efforts. Ali brings her dedicated approach to the TVP Comms team as they share their perspective and best counsel with readers of publications like The Washington Post, Times Higher EducationPoynter, and University Business, among others.

While Ali spends a lot of her time on the bigger picture of higher education and its opportunities and challenges, she also has a soft spot for student success stories.

Prior to joining TVP Comms in 2014, Ali worked at Bottom Line, a college access and success organization that helps first-generation, low-income students enter college and complete their degrees. Ali also served as a 2009 corps member for Teach for America, working as a high school English teacher at Contemporary Learning Academy in Denver. After working in direct student service, she considers herself to be a lifelong champion of student access and success in higher education.

After bouncing from Colorado to Massachusetts to Virginia, Ali now lives with her husband, daughter, and cat in Vermont. Her family keeps her busy, but she manages to squeeze in time to read, garden, get outdoors, test new recipes, and intermittently pick up the knitting needles.
