Kyle Gunnels is assistant vice president for TVP Communications where he brings international experience in K-12 education, higher education, non-profit, governmental and organizational marketing and communications. Prior to joining TVP Communications, Gunnels studied at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar and worked as a web and print marketing specialist with The Knowledge Partnership, an international higher education consultancy.

Previously, Gunnels worked at Widmeyer Communications in New York City as an account executive and senior account executive in the company’s K-12 Education, Arts and Philanthropy Practice. He supported a diverse client base through extensive experience in partnership building, education policy knowledge, event planning, social media expertise and writing skills.

Before joining Widmeyer, Gunnels worked as the writer/editor in the marketing services department at a private four-year institution in East Texas. In this role, he assisted in media relations efforts, developed copy for various campus promotional materials and publications, and coordinated the development of the university magazine and donor newsletters.

He has been invited to speak to audiences at conferences for the Association of Development and Alumni Professionals in Education (ADAPE) Australia, American Marketing Association, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (AUS), NAFSA: Association of International Educators and Public Relations Society of America on the subjects of proactive and crisis communications, media training, social media marketing and more.

Gunnels graduated from The University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in political science and received a graduate diploma in communications for social change from the University of Queensland.
