With the never-ending breaking news cycle, there’s a lot communications professionals are reacting to on a regular basis. In a piece for Inside Higher Ed’s Call to Action blog, I explain why we need to shift from responding vs. reacting so we can execute our jobs on campuses more effectively.
As someone who moves at a really fast pace, it has been hard for me to adopt this process of a response mind-set rather than a reaction-based one, but it has paid off in the long run.
