Quick Hit: Hot Higher Ed Podcasts for the Summer

Whether you are relaxing on the beach, carting the kids to camp, or taking a stroll during lunch, it’s nice to take a break from screen time and get your higher ed news and stories via podcast.

I’ve recently started listening to Have You Heard, a podcast by journalist Jennifer Berkshire and Holy Cross professor Jack Schneider which focuses on education policy in the Trump era. They tackle tough topics (making them fun and breaking them down) ranging from the rise of for-profit universities to the use of student test scores to evaluate teachers, and corporate education reform.

Another good one is the EWA Radio podcast, which invites education journalists to talk about the stories they are covering. Host Emily Richmond recently spoke with New York Times reporter Dana Goldstein about her article on summer reading lists for incoming college students and what those choices mean.

Here are a few others recommendations from the TVP Comms team:

Kristine loves WGBH’s Innovation Hub. She says it’s not always about higher ed, but is frequently and also features a lot of faculty expertise.

Ali enjoys sitting in her higher ed hammock and listening to Educate, a podcast about ideas and research in education, produced by APM Reports.
