Higher ed communications teams need to tackle this COVID-19 checklist.

Thank you to all our colleagues and thank you, specifically, to the TVP Communications team for the amazing work performed over the past few weeks. I am proud of the work I see coming from our campuses and the leadership being shared with our colleagues amid the COVID-19 situation. 

Whether you are part of your campus crisis team, lead the media relations team tasked with balancing the volume of incoming requests and the need to maintain a steady stream of media pitching, share critical information and maintain engagement on social, or you serve as conduit for the many messages drafted and sent—thank you.

With this in mind, Erin Hennessy and I wrote a brief piece for Inside Higher Ed with questions to consider as we tackle this difficult and important work of COVID-19 communications. We aren’t done yet and now is the time to recalibrate our approaches.
