Since joining TVP Communications nine years ago, Cristal Steuer has leveraged her media connections to benefit our campus partners, and has been tenacious in pitching and placing experts and thought leadership pieces. A former journalist, she sees stories others miss and then finds compelling ways to tell them. As a result, her pitches often land in top-tier outlets, and the resultant pieces have depth and meaning.
Whether she’s positioning a campus story for national visibility, securing a faculty op-ed in a national outlet, or coaching a senior leader for a challenging interview, Cristal brings a warm confidence that inspires trust. She listens to the expectations our colleagues face and the nuances of the stories that matter to them and then works to exceed their goals for placements. She is skilled at asking questions that get to the core of the story, and even the toughest of faculty get back to her because they don’t want to disappoint her. She’s that good at what she does.
Beyond her expertise, Cristal leads with kindness. She is a connector, a mentor, and a relentless advocate for her colleagues at TVP Communications, campus partners, and the industry. She has carved out leadership positions in the Public Relations Society of America and has become a role model for those pursuing Accreditation in Public Relations. As a result, this promotion reflects her work and the way she inspires and uplifts those around her.
